Hey guys, how was the Super Bowl? Were you rooting for the Steelers or Green Bay?
"While the event serves fun and games, involving the gluttonous consumption of alcohol and food by family and friends, broadcasting expensive TV commercials (most of them hilarious as heck), and serving as the anticipating nationwide party, the Super Bowl event also happens to be a human trafficking event.
For decades, human traffickers lure both male and female teenagers, ages 11-17, into forced prostitution. First, "with the inlflux of money and a party atmosphere of the Super Bowl," many "Johns" would seek the services of child prostitutes - not just the actual site of the Super Bowl. According to Craiglist, sex traffickers occurs in different places at the same time usually under the guise of "Super Bowl parties."
Although the law enforcement and the victim advocates have gone cracking down human trafficking, their efforts fall short without more public awareness and support of anti0]-human trafficking.
No better method of generating awareness and support exists than for the NFL and the Super Bowl Host Committee to come out in condemnation of human trafficking in the strongest terms.
However, for unspecified reasons, both parties have declined to speak out on the subject."
Perhaps a silent agreement to release human trafficking victims in order to "hush" the law enforcements?
