Paola Pivi “It's a cocktail party”
Surstromming (Jaihee Hwang)
Surstromming (soured herring) is considered the most stinky food in the world. Because of the its smell, people usually eat or open it outdoor. Also because of smell, this food can not be carried by plane.
Sushi Fragrance
Few days ago my friends posted this fragrance website called"demeterfragrance.com", and I find this -the Sushi Frangrance.
Also there are some interesting things in the review:
"pretty impressive the blending of soft rice, sharp vinegar, spicy ginger, & faint whisper of the sea (seaweed)... "
Check this out: http://www.demeterfragrance.com/58083/704196/All-Classic-Scents/Sushi.html
The description says :
"Not what you think it would smell like! Demeter's Sushi is the fresh scent of just cooked sticky rice and straight from the seaside seaweed, laced with hints of ginger and lemon essences. Simply delectable... after all, if it smelledlike fish, would you wear it?"

SMELL AND TASTE
I found very interesting the idea of having the sense of smell alter our emotions. Though what i liked the most about the reading was the idea of color and language influencing and confusing the person who is using his senses to identify a specific thing. It makes you think about reality, and how our own bodies are able to deceive us. "I think therefore I exist" could it lead to i sense therefore I think?... which leads to I trick myself?

Oliver Sacks
Oliver Sacks is a neurologist and author of some of my favorite books. This is an article about one of his books, "Hallucinations", where he describes how people can hallucinate through any and all of the 5 senses. He says, "The brain has to keep active, it has to keep going and if it's not being fed through the senses, the eyes and ears and nose, it will dip into the brain and come up with something." I kind of wish this happened to me more often.

smell me
Martynka Wawryzyniak
It is a really unique and original idea to use one’s organic odor to represent self-portrait. It would be much more interesting if the artist has combined the smell with other senses instead of just representing her collection of odors. Also, the work of art seems to be only meaningful to the artist. It would be more interactive if the artist represents a documentary of her process collecting her essence. There are many elements that compose one’s body odor. Body odor is like a one’s path. For example, the artist could represent ingredients of tears Or the artist can extend this project to a public project such as “what makes everyone smell unique?”
