Jack Pot!

I thought this would be fitting as my first post since it's what started my collection. The day this collection was assigned, I got off the train, and in the bushes, I saw a yellow rag and for some reason was just forced to pick it up. Well, it turned out to be Jack, and I was just fascinated by the idea that a child really loved him, and he's in really good shape and so clean. And I decided I was going to collect toys and miniatures because it's the closest thing I can think of to being able to collect happiness.

And to make up for yesterday, I'm posting a second one here-- Don't kill me!

This is Mr Potter!

I saved up to buy him with my allowance when I was in fourth grade, and I remember playing with him instead of a Ken doll. I have a lot of memories that go along with this toy, and it's like the definition of my childhood. I also think that the whole Harry Potter phenomenon really affected pop culture, and I think it's an important element in society.

And in case you didn't get it... my title's a pun.

2. No I'll Never Be Lonely...

This particular song lyric was one discovered when listening to a Pandora station. I had never heard the song before and haven't heard it since but this repeating phrase from the chorus stuck with me. Adopting this attitude seems useful to me. To say that I can be totally content while being totally alone is a goal that I hope to someday reach. College is a good place to sort of test this out. I feel like if you look for connections, you'll find them. Loneliness is a state of mind, not a state of being.

1 & 2

Supposely, i am recording the shadows of the day, but i am trying to not upload duplicated shadows, so my posts will show very some part of my collection of the day.

1. Oct 6th

This is one of the most favored collection! I think i bought it on this summer, and have been using this for like every day. I mostly put these on right under the eye. The pearl size is quite big, but it looks natural.

2. Oct 7th

Yay! My new collection had arrived today! This is just the part of 120 colors palette collection. Recently, i've been feeling sick. My nose and throat soar alot, so i choose red tone for the day. I think red tone represents the pain.

Object 1

This is one of my favorite beanie babies, his name is Goatee but I call him Goat-y. This was one of my most played with beanie babies but I was forced to keep the tag on him... even now I want to cut it off.

Z@CHZ UN!CORNZ ( Unicorn amidst roses)

Here is my favorite image from my collection. I named it Unicorn Amidst Roses.

It's funny to think who they were selling this to or whose concept this was.
The photographer seems amature becuase of the poorly cropped image but you can tell the creative director of the shot (who may of well had been the photographer) put alot of effort into the setting, costume (yes that unicorn got a weeve) and getting a horse.

1. "Jesus Died For Somebody's Sins but Not Mine"

This is one of the most powerful songs I know. The opening line is defiant,"Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine". It is so defiant that it used to bother me, actually. I felt like it was cocky and disrespectful, but that was before I understood what Patti Smith was really saying. In her memoir Just Kids she directly addresses this phrase. By owning her sins, by not letting her self off the hook, she gained freedom. She's not dissing Christ or Christianity, she's acknowledging her faults and owning them. To be free is to accept everything about yourself and the world, even the sins and the sinners. That was a radical realization for me. It gave me freedom too.

Experimental Station Trip

Thanks to the amazing Clare for these great photos from our weekend bread-baking, farmer's market visiting, meal-sharing, Experimental Station extravaganza. Enjoy!
